Set during Shahr Ramaḍān, this story follows Hayaa, a young Muslim girl who loves the Qurʾān and is eager to deepen her understanding of its message. As she navigates her daily life—attending Sunday school, participating in acts of charity, and preparing for the powerful Nights of Qadr—Hayaa reflects on the wisdom of the Qurʾān and its guidance for the world.

In her Islamic Studies class, she learns about the significance of Laylat al-Qadr, the night when the Qurʾān was first revealed and when Allah’s decrees descend upon the Imam of our time, Imam al-Mahdī (ʿaj). She also discovers the sorrow of the 19th night of Ramaḍān, when Imām ʿAlī (ʿa) was struck, and how his justice, sacrifice, and devotion to Allah inspire her.

Hayaa struggles with the idea of injustice in the world—reflecting on the suffering of her family in Lebanon, the oppression in Palestine, and children forced into labor and hardship —yet she also recognizes that her own struggles are real, even if different. As she seeks answers, she turns to the Qurʾān, finding lessons of hope, resilience, and trust in Allah’s greater plan.

With a heart full of faith, love, and responsibility, Hayaa spends the Night of Qadr in prayer, asking Allah for guidance, strength, and closeness to Him—and, most of all, to always walk in the footsteps of those who sacrificed for Islam.

This ~6,500 word story, written for readers 7–13, is a heartfelt journey of faith, reflection, and action, encouraging young readers to connect with the Qurʾān and find their role in shaping a better world.
