Ladies of Jannah

Based on the Hadith of the four women of Paradise, I wanted to write simple books rooted in our hadith about the greatest women of the world. So I wrote five books, Sayyidah Khadijah, Sayyidah Fatimah, Lady Asiya, Lady Maryam, and Sayyidah Zaynab. Each book follows the same format, a poem based in hadith (references at the back of the book) with qualities of these amazing ladies for little readers to follow. It seems I am continually drawn to writing in rhyme. I feel like for didactic stories with an abundance of information to disseminate, it works well. I launched one on the wafat (death commemoration) of Sayyidah Khadijah, but I intend to relaunch it (and publish the other books) as a board book with illustrations by Samya Zitouni (who I’ve been wanting to work with for so long!).

I just got the sketches for the Sayyidah Fatimah book back and I absolutely adore them! I’m so looking forward to launching it for Sayyidah Fatimah’s Wiladat inshallah!

As with the other books, hadith are available at the back of the book to supplement learning, and to reiterate that every sentence is written with conviction and Islamic support.
